Iron Hill Twilight Criterium
6th Annual Iron Hill Twilight
Criterium Saturday, July 10, 2010
Katie Walker, President of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, has announced that the sixth edition of the popular Iron Hill Twilight Criterium will be returning to downtown West Chester on Saturday, July 10, 2010.
Last year over 20,000 spectators lined the streets of West Chester to watch professional cyclists compete around the .8-mile circuit course starting and finishing in front of title sponsor, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant. In addition to the Pro Men’s race, the schedule of events will include an Amateur Men’s Criterium and an Elite Women’s Criterium. Also taking place will be the popular West Chester Dental Arts Kids’ Race, which attracted over 400 participating children last year.
In addition to the excitement of bike racing, visitors will once again find that all of last year’s activities have returned, including the Kids Zone, food court, music stage and the Market Street Block Party. “It’s a great way to explore the many one-of-a-kind shops, boutiques and restaurants that make West Chester so special,” said Ms. Walker. “The event has broadened its scope to become a town-wide celebration!”
2010 is the 6th year for the Iron Hill Twilight Criterium. Since the event’s inception, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has been the title sponsor and has renewed this partnership for the next five years. “We are excited in the part we have played in bringing professional sports to the area,” said Kevin Finn, owner and CEO of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant and a resident of West Chester. “I’ve talked to a lot of people who have made it a point to return later to explore West Chester’s many quiet streets and family-owned shops.”
It is expected that on Saturday, July 10, 2010, West Chester will be making a lot of new friends.
