Message from the Chairman

It is truly an honor to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce of Greater West Chester. The old Chamber office on Gay Street was one of the first places I visited when we moved to West Chester 12 years ago. Since I was new to the area, it seemed like a logical place to find out information on the West Chester area. Joining the Chamber has resulted in many friendships and professional relationships over the years. It has been a wonderful experience to become part of the community and be active in the Chamber.

The mission of our Chamber is to promote an environment for the betterment and prosperity of the business community and our vision is to be the premier organization providing leadership and opportunity for business. We are blessed to have an incredible staff and a talented, dedicated board of directors that strives to fulfill this mission.

  
It has been a particularly painful business environment the last few years and the Chamber is aware of how difficult it has been on many of our members. We have decided to have no dues increase this year and, as with most organizations, we have cut our expenses as much as possible. At the same time, we are dedicated to fulfilling our mission and expanding the programs and events that we provide for the community and our member businesses.  

The Chamber of Commerce of Greater West Chester provides an incredible opportunity to promote and market your business. I encourage all of our members to get as involved as they can with the Chamber.  That is truly the only way to realize the value of your membership.  Please provide the board and staff with your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. They do matter to us. We promise to listen and respond. 

The economic challenges may not be totally behind us, but I do believe the Chamber is positioned better than ever to support the business community. Once again, I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Board and look forward to the upcoming year.
