Message from the Chairman

Michael Brown

mike-brownIt is with great pleasure that I assume the chairmanship of The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from Jeff Kitchen. When I first started in business here in my hometown in 1992, the first resource I used was the West Chester Chamber. Ever since that day, I have been involved with the Chamber. Now, 19 years later, I am humbled to serve as the Chairman.

Our company has a long and great history with the Chamber. In 1996, the founder of our company who happens to also be my father, served as the Chairman. I remember working in an office next to his and marveling at the amount of time he dedicated to Chamber business. This taught me an important lesson – if you agree to do something, do it.  The Chamber also lives by that lesson. They do it!

Annually, Chamber events bring in over 50,000 people to the restaurants, retail stores and offices within our footprint through events such as the Iron Hill Twilight Criterium, The Mars Drinks Old Fashioned Christmas Parade and Gallery Walks, among others. These events have brought West Chester national media coverage, and have placed us on the map as a great place to live, work and prosper.

Membership in the Chamber provides much more than social opportunities. It is a way for you to make important connections. When our company was looking for a new bank, we only considered banks that were not only members of the Chamber, but active members. When we need office supplies, we use a Chamber member who was a past chairman. Our equipment was sold to us by a Chamber member. Our favorite restaurant is a member of the Chamber. We do business with people who we feel are connected to the community. Membership with the Chamber can help you make those essential connections.

That is why now more than ever, your Chamber membership should be one of your most important investments. I look forward to working with you to make this another great year to be a part of the Greater West Chester community.

Chairman
