2009 Foundation News

The Chamber of Commerce of Greater West Chester Education Foundation is proud to recognize our 2009 Scholarship recipients and finalist. Frankmena, from Bayard Rustin High School, and Nate, from Henderson, each received $1,000 recently from the Chamber of Commerce of Greater West Chester Education Foundation to continue their educations. Frankmena will attend Albright College to major in business administration, and Nate is headed to Elizabethtown College to study business. Runners-up Joshua Epps, Thomas Taylor, Nick Michaels and Adam Attia each received $200 awards.
    The selection committee evaluated three students from West Chester’s CAT-Brandywine program and three from West Chester’s traditional high school curriculum.
     Committee members were: chamber President Katie L. Walker; chamber Executive Vice President Mark Yoder; 2009 chamber Chairwoman Patti Griffin of Main Line Today; 2008 chamber Chairman Tim Walsh of FSMI Inc.; Custom Printing and Promotions’ Susan Casso; Rob Partridge, West Chester Area School District communications program director; Sarah Moran, and Jeff Kitchen, financial investment adviser with Edward Jones

Foundation Mission

To generate scholarships to provide students within our geographic footprint the ability to further develop themselves and their educational opportunities. These scholarships will allow students to enhance their vocation within our community.

Foundation Goal

To award two $1,000 scholarships annually. One graduating senior from the West Chester Area School District and one from the CAT Brandywine Program who each have a vision to pursue an entrepreneurial or business interest.
