The Greater West Chester Chamber is pleased to announce a new benefit designed to help members save money on prescription drugs. The free discount drug card is available to all members as well as their employees, families and friends.
The Pennsylvania Drug Card provides discounts as high as 80 percent with average savings of approximately 30 percent off prescription drugs. The prescription card can be used as a stand alone benefit or as a supplement for most health insurance plans to cover non-formulary drugs (those not covered by health insurance).
To obtain a card, simply go to the Chamber’s website (greaterwestchester.com), click on the link to Pennsylvania Drug Card, fill-in the information required and download your card. If you are unable for any reason to print a card, the Chamber will have cards available. There will also be an option to check if your prescription is available, as well as the pharmacy that provides the best price and their location.
When filling a prescription at a pharmacy, present your Pennsylvania Drug Card as well as any health insurance card you may have to compare costs. The program is accepted by most major pharmacy chains. In this area, participants include CVS and Walgreens, as well as Kmart, Giant, Target and Acme pharmacies.
No age or income restrictions apply and the card is pre-activated so you can use it immediately. Each participant must have his or her own card.
This statewide program, created by benefits providers RESTAT and United Networks of America, is made possible with the support and participation of U.S. pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies and the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce.
